What is in Miracle Gro?

Miracle-Gro is an award-winning garden fertilizer, ideal for helping plants to flourish outdoors in outdoor settings such as flowers, vegetables, trees and shrubs – guaranteed not to cause burning when used according to instructions.

MG is not an organic product; rather it replaces soil microorganisms with water soluble synthetic nitrogen rich in salt content.

Urea Phosphate

Urea phosphate is a water-soluble fertilizer with high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus, used by plants to encourage strong root systems. It can also serve as an important source of carbon dioxide in Haber-Bosch processes; however, due to its tendency for precipitates formation it has limited uses; currently research is being done into its potential uses as flame retardants or for the creation of new materials.

Miracle-Gro is composed of the main ingredient urea, which provides plants with nitrogen for photosynthesis as well as stimulating green leaf growth. As a non-toxic and biodegradable product it can be safely applied to vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, grass and houseplants for maximum effect.

Miracle-Gro contains potassium chloride, boric acid, ammonium phosphate and ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA). Boric acid helps prevent fungus while EDTA increases availability of iron and manganese. Even though its ingredients were created in a laboratory setting, Miracle-Gro remains widely available and widely used.

Miracle-Gro is a synthetic liquid plant food suitable for most varieties of plants. Ideal for home gardeners with brown thumbs, Miracle-Gro can be used on vegetables, herbs, flowers, trees and even grass. Unfortunately, its manufacturer, Scotts Miracle-Gro, has been charged by the Environmental Protection Agency with various violations including falsifying pesticide registration documents.

Miracle-Gro is an extremely popular product among home gardeners, but many individuals may have questions as to its suitability for an organic garden. While Miracle-Gro can indeed be used organically, it is important to understand the difference between organic and synthetic gardening; organic gardens use natural methods that support soil ecosystem health while synthetic fertilizers may damage it further.

Ammonium Phosphate

Ammonium Phosphate (NH4)3PO4 is an ammonia-containing fertilizer salt with the chemical formula (NH4)3PO4. It’s produced by reacting urea with orthophosphoric acid to create a white crystalline material highly soluble in water with its own characteristic ammonia scent.

MG fertilizer is a synthetic nitrogen product widely used to promote fast plant growth. Unfortunately, its use kills off beneficial microbes and fungi which help break down organic matter into nutrients for the plants to absorb.

Miracle-Gro and synthetic fertilizers like Urea Phosphate outsource this job to water soluble, salty artificial chemicals which may damage plants if applied too heavily, acidify soil, and leave behind unnutritious soil conditions.

Miracle Gro contains urea phosphate as its main nitrogen-supplying compound and also provides phosphorous. Other components include potassium chloride, boric acid and ammonium phosphate which all help plants hold onto moisture while also fighting fungus growth; while boric acid aids plants in absorbing iron and manganese essential for photosynthesis.

Monoammonium Phosphate fertilizer is commonly used in vegetables and flowers due to its higher phosphate content compared with other fertilizers. This granular material consists of 12% nitrogen and 61% phosphorous and can be applied either liquid or powder form for maximum effectiveness.

Follow the directions on the label when applying synthetic fertilizers in order to avoid damaging your plants. This applies regardless of which fertilizer type you’re using, but especially so with synthetics; their increased leaf growth at the expense of fruit production could potentially damage or burn their leaves if too much fertilizer is applied at once.

Nitrogen

Miracle-Gro is an exceptional commercial fertilizer blend used on flowers, vegetables and trees alike. It contains both macronutrients and micronutrients necessary for plant development; macronutrients being nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium; with Urea Phosphate acting as its principal nitrogen provider – providing essential phosphorous that supports flower growth as well as other plant functions.

Miracle-Gro’s ammonium phosphate, also referred to as monobasic phosphate, provides essential macronutrients such as phosphorous and nitrogen through its reaction with orthophosphoric acid derived from urea. This product consists of a crystalline substance with 17 percent nitrogen and 43 to 44 percent phosphorous oxide content.

Miracle-Gro contains more than just nitrogen and phosphorous – it also includes essential micronutrients like calcium, magnesium, sulfur and potassium that plants require in small amounts for proper functioning.

Miracle-Gro can only work effectively if its plant absorbs it through its roots and leaves, using natural microbial processes that have existed on Earth since prehistoric times. Unfortunately, chemical fertilizers disrupt these natural microbial processes, acting like an IV and directly injecting nutrients directly into its bloodstream instead of going through its normal digestive system.

Although Miracle-Gro can be useful in the short term, it’s not the ideal long-term solution for gardeners. Instead of using synthetic chemicals to feed plants, organic improvements to soil may provide better long-term solutions while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its use. Liquafeed offers an eco-friendly alternative to Miracle-Gro – its packets easily mix with water for application through garden hose applicators to the soil – with one packet used per gallon when watering outdoor plants and one teaspoon for every 2 gallons when watering indoor plants.

Phosphorous

Phosphorous is an essential nutrient needed by the body for various bodily processes. It can be found in dairy products, red meats, poultry and seafood as well as legumes, whole grains seeds and nuts; however some plant foods contain high concentrations of phytic acid that prevent absorption by our bodies; food preparation techniques like cooking sprouting or soaking can help break down this phytic acid barrier and enhance phosphorous absorption into our systems.

Most people consume enough phosphorus in their diet. However, certain health conditions and medications may lead to decreased levels of phosphorous; this may cause decreased energy, muscle weakness, bone pain and numbness or tingling sensations in hands and feet. If you suffer from kidney disease, however, your physician may prescribe a medicine known as phosphate binder to control phosphorus intake – these medicines come in pill, chewable tablet and powder forms for added control over intake.

Miracle-Gro offers a high phosphorus fertilizer designed specifically to address flowering and fruiting plants, and used regularly as part of an overall strategy of healthy growth during their season. It helps provide essential nutrients needed for their healthy development throughout their growth.

This high phosphorous miracle gro formula includes ingredients such as urea, urea phosphate, potassium chloride, boric acid, ammonium phosphate and ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA). These chemicals provide plants with sufficient amounts of essential nutrients needed to thrive; additionally they prevent any formation of fungus which could compromise plant health and damage its appearance – this makes this high phosphorous miracle gro formula perfect for roses, dahlias, tomatoes as well as flowering fruiting plants of all sorts! Potassium phosphate, with its chemical formula of KH2PO4, is an acid-containing compound with freely soluble white granular powder that forms its primary intracellular cation in muscle cells and plays a significant role in their electrodynamics as well as protein formation processes. Potassium phosphate serves as an essential nutrient in plant growth while helping regulate cellular ionic balance balances.

Because many medications interact with each other, always inform your physician and pharmacist of all products you use, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.

Calcium, aluminum or magnesium-containing antacids should not be taken with potassium phosphate as these antacids may attach themselves to it and prevent your body from absorbing it. Furthermore, taking potassium phosphate with digitalis drugs increases your risk of extraskeletal calcification.
